Fire pits are allowed in the South Davis Metro Service Area, and must be constantly attended with an extinguishing source immediately available, such as a portable fire extinguisher, dirt, sand, water barrel, or garden hose.

The following are guidelines to follow:

• There must be a minimum distance of 25 feet from any structure

• The pile size must be 3 feet or less in diameter and 2 feet or less in height

• The pits can only be used for recreational use only  

• Burning of waste material/garbage is prohibited.

• Burning yard debris is prohibited
